アプリにNAWLをダウンロード、eメールそして組み合わせするための簡単なツール、そして単語を迅速そして効率的に学習し、進捗度を詳しく記録するための学習ツール、進捗度をご自分または教師にeメールする機能が含まれる。
単語の解釈は簡単な英語で書かれて、一部スピーチ付きである。それにその単語の日本語訳と英語のネイティブスピーカーによる発音も提供されている。

本アプリもインテリジェント・ワードリスト・メーカーとインテリジェント・フラッシュカードシステムを含む。
インテリジェント・ワードリスト・メーカーがあれば、フラッシュカードシステムの中に知らない単語だけ迅速と効率的に選んで勉強することができる。全部のリストを一回通すことを強いるより、インテリジェント・ワードリスト・メーカーは頻度順でリストを通すことをガイドしてもらい、必要に応じてまたは暇があるときに少しずつ単語を追加することを可能にする。
